Buddha Fruit Products

Are your products, 100% Pure Monk Fruit extract?

Our Lo han guo (powdered Monk Fruit extract), Golden lo han guo (powder Monk Fruit extract) and Lo han honey (liquid Monk Fruit extract) are 100% pure Monk Fruit. No other ingredients have been added.

What’s the difference between Lo han guo (the blue packet) and Golden lo han guo (the orange packet)?

Both Lo Han Guo and Golden Lo Han Guo are pure 100% Monk Fruit extracts. This may leave you a little confused to what the difference is between the two. Well to explain… Monk Fruit is composed of compounds called MogrosideV. MogrosideV is what gives us that super sweet taste. To put it simply, a higher percentage of MogrosideV will mean the extract will be sweeter.

Lo Han Guo has a MogrosideV percentage of 40%, whereas Golden Lo Han Guo has a percentage of 25%. As Golden Lo Han Guo has a lower percentage of MogrosideV, this means it is a little less sweet in comparison to Lo Han Guo. Golden Lo Han Guo will be a golden colour whereas Lo Han Guo is an almond white. Some say the Golden Lo Han Guo preserves that fruity taste too.

Monk Fruit extract richer in MogrosideV is accomplished via additional purification steps. Each of the fruits contain around 0.5% MogrosideV. So to achieve 25% MogrosideV, around 50 monk Fruits will be purified. Nearby 80 Monk Fruits will be cleansed to achieve 40% MogrosideV.
