Lo Han Guo is a 100% natural, zero calorie, sugar alternative. Buddha Fruit’s Lo Han Guo is the only product which only contains PURE Monk Fruit (aka Luo Han Guo) extract. Many other brands tend to fill their Monk Fruit with Dextrose, Inulin etc. This not only alters the natural taste but some people also experience gastrointestinal distress, bloating etc. after consuming these type of ingredients. We have chosen to supply you with an all natural, non-GMO, pure Monk Fruit so you can get all the benefits from this magnificent fruit extract.

As this is a pure product you will only need a tiny amount as it is super sweet. Each packet contains 20g (0.7 oz) of 100% Monk Fruit extract. This may not sound a huge amount but trust us when we say, ‘it certainly packs a punch’ in terms of sweetness. Lo Han Guo is about 200-300x sweeter than sugar. It is advised that 1 scoop (incl. in packet) is equal to 1 tsp of sugar (see conversion chart below), which equates to about 356 servings per packet. Check out our recipes page for suggestions of use.

Where is Monk Fruit grown?

Monk Fruit (also known as Luo Han Guo) is cultivated within the mountains of Guangxi, Southern China, in which it is then processed into a fine powder to use as a natural sugar alternative. Monk Fruit extract has been used for centuries by Buddhist Monks and is know as the ‘longevity fruit’, to learn more about this amazing sugar alternative and it’s health benefits click here

What makes Monk Fruit different to other Natural Sweeteners?

Monk Fruit (aka Lou Han Guo) does not raise blood glucose levels so is perfect for people who are diabetic or pre-diabetic. The extract contains Zero carbohydrates so if you are looking to lower your carb intake or are following a Keto style diet then this natural sweetener is a perfect option. Another great benefit to Monk Fruit is that it has not yet been shown to contain any associated adverse effects, whereas many other sugar alternatives have been shown to produce gastrointestinal distress, bloating and many other uncomfortable symptoms.

What’s the difference between Lo Han Guo (the blue packet) and Golden Lo Han Guo (the orange packet)?

Lo Han Guo is slightly sweeter as it contains a higher percentage of compounds called MogrosideV. MogrosideV determines the sweetness of Monk Fruit, a bit like glucose molecules in sugar. Lo Han Guo (blue packet) is ground more than Golden Lo Han Guo (golden packet) which makes it more potent in sweetness and it appears as white in colour. Golden Lo Han Guo contains a lower percentage of MogrosideV, hence it is less sweet compared to Lo Han Guo. It also has a slight fruity taste and is golden in colour. Use Golden Lo Han Guo (25% Mogroside V) for making baked goods such as muffins, cakes, add to coffee etc. and Lo Han Guo (40% Mogroside V) when making homemade ice cream, add to smoothies, tea etc.

    **** 10 month update ******
Finally ran out. Ended up only using in a couple of recipes (bought the golden for recipes).

    **** 8 month update ****
Still using same package and plenty left. Use a scoop in my tea daily PLUS have used it in several recipes.

The packaging isn’t so great on this, so I put in a wide mouth 8oz Mason jar and the scoop stays out of monk fruit so I’m not always putting my fingers in it.

    ***** update ******
Here it is 6 months later and if I only use it in my morning tea, this will last me a year.

I’m going to start using it in recipes. The conversion rate is 1 tiny scoop equals 1 teaspoon of sugar.

Like others have mentioned, when I 1st received this I was a little bit disappointed in the amount. Love that they include a spoon. This will last a long time.

I have used other pure monk fruit products and as long as you don’t put in too much, there is no aftertaste. I will be purchasing more of this brand.

Awesome product ! great flavour , pure and natural.. At first I thought to myself , I paid how much for this! Then when u realize how little of it u need to get the sweetness it is like WOW! this is going to last me a year. I find it has a nicer flavour on its own then when cut with other sweetners. Its kind of cool that the measuring spoon is the size of a tooth pick , that screams potent ! Being a diabetic I can’t have sugar so to find a sweeter thats all natural without the bitter aftertaste like stevia is a game changer for me. The service was exceptional to, 2 days at my door step through Purolator ( best courier by far ) Two thumbs up don’t hesitate to buy this u won’t regret it .

I use this package since last year for my coffee and other drinks. Small package but I still have lots. This is the only product so far which doesn’t have some bad side or after taste. Also, I didn’t noticed any reaction to it.
